Compliments Greencare
During 2009, Sobeys introduced the Compliments Greencare line of environmentally-friendly products which also deliver highly effective performance. The first phase of the Compliments Greencare product range includes household cleaners, laundry detergent, paper products and garbage bags. The products meet a strict set of criteria for environmentally friendly product practices. Many “green” products offer misleading claims; only products that offer specific fact-based environmental benefits will carry the Compliments Greencare logo.
Recognized third-party certification by EcoLogo (www.ecologo.org) gives consumers the assurance that the Compliments Greencare products bearing this symbol have met the standards that make them better and safer for the environment.
EcoLogo is North America’s largest, most respected environmental standard and certification mark. EcoLogo provides customers with assurance that the products and services bearing the logo meet stringent standards of environmental leadership. EcoLogo certifies environmental leaders in over 120 product and service categories, helping customers find and trust more environmentally friendly products.
This means the program compares products and services with others in the same category, develops rigorous and scientifically relevant criteria that reflect the entire lifecycle of the product, and awards the EcoLogo to only those that are verified by an independent third party as complying with the criteria.
