Bag 2 Bag program
To further reduce the number of plastic bags that end up in landfills, we have introduced in-store collection bins for used plastic bags in most of our store locations. This Bag 2 Bag program encourages customers to use the bins to deposit their used plastic bags. The bags collected are recycled to make plastic products including plastic grocery bags.
During calendar year 2008, our stores collected more than 66 million plastic bags through the Bag 2 Bag program.
